There are various ways you can help the charity, either on your own or on behalf of a company. Whether big or small, every hand will make a difference. And remember, what you may consider a tiny contribution will go a lot further on one of our sites.
If you want to help financially, but also want to get involved with the children directly then perhaps you might be interested in sponsoring a child. For either a monthly or an annual fee, you can help one of the children from the site lead a brighter life. Your donation will pay for their food, their schooling, and in time their housing. We will ensure that you will always be in close contact with the child you choose to help. Sporting Chance Foundation has also come up with a slightly different concept from the usual sponsorship. It is called the “Brother in Need” programme, and it is an ideal way to get the younger members of the family involved. The programme is explained further down the page.
If you can’t afford child sponsorship then there are still lots of other ways you can help out.
- If you have any spare sports kit lying around the house, we can take it.
- If you, or anyone you know is planning a trip to one of our sites then we could always use the baggage space
- Talk about the charity, let friends and family know what we are up to!
Sporting Chance Foundation is also looking for help with our larger projects. If, as a corporation, you feel that you share our common goal, then there are numerous opportunities for us to unite. From the charity’s point of view we are looking for help to set up our centre in Phnom Penh. Whether you are interested in sponsoring one of our upcoming events or just feel you can offer your expertise to the project we would love to hear from you.
"Brother in Need"—This is a great opportunity for children to get involved in the charity. Instead of the responsibility resting on parents, we propose a child, or a junior team, "adopts" a brother or sister from one of our sites. With personal fundraising and the help of Touraid, there is no reason the children won’t square off on a sports field in the near feature!
"Hands on Deck"—With the project in Phnom Penh about to kick off, we are looking for individuals or companies to help us to set up the infrastructure for the site. Although financial help is always welcome, we appreciate that some companies prefer to pitch in by offering their expertise or staff to get involved with specific projects (logistics, building, etc). Another option we propose is for independent individuals to spend time on our site. In order to be part of the project, all you need to do is some personal fundraising and to book some time off work! Once you are on board, we will take care of the rest. Your experience will be capped off with a game against the local boys and girls you have been working alongside.
